Irene Gallou is the head of the Specialist Modelling Group at the architectural firm Foster & Partners. The modelling group is the practice’s research and development unit specialising in building physics, simulation, complex geometrical problems and digital fabrication. She joined the practice in 2006, and has been involved in research projects such as post occupancy evaluation of buildings, large scale 3D printing in steel and concrete, and 3D printed extraterrestrial habitations.
