The exhibitions at Messums West this December bring focus to the material of paper, highlighting contemporary artists from across the globe who push the boundaries of this seemingly simple and delicate material to create highly complex, detailed, imaginative sculptural works.

Join us to meet the artists for a talk and tour of the shows on the first weekend of their respective exhibitions.

Beneath the timber beams of the thirteenth-century tithe barn at Messums West, there will be a series of new architectural constructions made in recycled cardboard by Australian artist and filmmaker Daniel Agdag. The show is his fourth solo exhibition with Messums. There will also be a presentation of new work by Japanese contemporary artist Kaori Kato. Kato’s site-specific installation presented at Messums West following her artist residency in 2023 remains one of Messums’ most highly visited exhibitions and she is now returning to Wiltshire from Japan with this new series of work.
