Biography

Finn Gibson

[ 2000
- Present ]
Finn Gibson (b.2000) is a British photographic artist whose work explores the spirit and sensation of being immersed within a landscape. His image making process involves observing and interrogating the relationship between people and place. Captivated by the natural world and untamed landscapes, Gibson makes regular trips to remote regions of the British Isles and beyond. Drawing inspiration from landscape painters such as Turner and Constable, he has an inherent attention to the way light falls on a subject. Gibson uses the camera to intricately study the world around him, directing the lens at those who inhabit it and the land itself. Gibson spends time traversing and exploring wild places, the camera a reliable tool to record each transient encounter with a sense of joy, freedom and humanity.

Sammy Hawker

[
- Present ]
Sammy Hawker is an Australian-based visual artist working predominantly on Ngunawal/Ngunnawal/Ngambri Country [Canberra Region, ACT]. Through practices of reciprocity (facilitated acts of co-creation) Sammy’s works explore the potential of interspecies dialogue, giving voice to the presences of more-than human worlds. These works raise questions about how sentience and memory is inscribed within materials, sites and bodies. Sammy’s multi-disciplinary practice embraces text, sculpture, photography, sound and moving image. These works form a vast and ongoing archive, documenting sites and moments of exchange.
