Time: 18.00 – 20.30

Location: Messums West, Tisbury

These weekly classes are intended for the beginner and the intermediate artist who would like to receive informative guidance and tutelage to begin or progress their understanding of drawing the human figure. In this course artist Charlotte Moreton will teach the foundations of life drawing skills. Through a series of short and long poses the participants will be guided to look, to see, and to draw. The aim of the course is to enable our students to gain an understanding of the structures and forms hidden within the figure, and learn how to identify and use them with confidence.

The exhibition ‘Sculptors’ Drawings’ at Messums West (15 June – 24 September) will provide valuable study material and inspiration.

Charlotte Moreton

Charlotte Moreton is a Wiltshire-based artist who trained at the Frink School of Figurative Sculpture (1999-2001). Her practice derives from nature and her background in nature conservation work, and her sculpture is greatly influenced by trees and nature.  Described by Jonathan Dimbleby as “a very talented sculptor”, Charlotte is also an experienced, insightful and sensitive tutor.

Charlotte Moreton said:“As a sculptor, I have a particular interest in structure and mass. During this course, we will be inspired by the work of great sculptors, including Frink, Rodin and many more, looking at various different approaches.”
