Stephen Turner is a visual artist working in West Yorkshire and north Kent where he has had a studio in the Historic Dockyard in Chatham since 1994 (as a base for exploring the estuarine landscape of the River Medway.) His work is multi – disciplinary – embracing 2d and 3d media from paintng to video and sculptural installation. Stephen has been inspired by the changing tidal Medway estuary since 1994. A recent series of paintings on paper explore different locations on the tidal stream under the heading of ‘Soiled’ and speak of land and river damaged through direct and indirect human action.
