Sofia Petrova-Halkidis was born in St. Petersburg in 1990. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg and is now a member of the Union of Modernist Artists there. Later, she moved to Italy and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. While in St. Petersburg, she was influenced by artists like De Stael, Rothko, Morandi, and Matisse, shaping her work. After moving to Italy, Sofia discovered new colours inspired by Mediterranean landscapes, marking a new period in her art. She’s been traveling across Italy, Croatia and Canary Islands exploring different colour combinations for her work. Her style involves thick paint layers, brushstrokes, and a canvas divided into colour zones.

Sofia also experiments with watercolours and recyclable materials. Her works are held in private collections in Russia, Malta, Italy,Spain, and England. She currently lives and works in London.
