“A congregation of flamingos gather on the otherwise still and silent thermal waters of Salar de Tara, in the Atacama Desert, Chile, sieving algae and bacteria through their beaks. The pastel pink flamingos emerge from the misty grey of first light, seemingly undisturbed by the extreme blizzards that tore through the desert for the duration of the previous night.”
