COMMENTS:

“Travelling through Namibia, I came across this fantastic, vast, water tower and wind pump. Created by a German farmer who had earlier been a mathematics teacher in nearby Luderitz, his design used canvas sails to better cope than metal blades in the strong winds. It was never used, as he sold the farm, and we are left with his creaking, rusting sculpture overlooking the desert plains.”
