Linda Sormin

OPEN: 11am – 6pm

Continuing the concept of As It Is Now, a seasonal presentation in New York throughout September, Messums ORG continues with two further weeks of exhibitions bringing a new wave of artists from the United Kingdom and Australia to the US. With established spaces in London and Wiltshire, and a new site launching in Lowestoft in 2026, this New York chapter extends Messums’ ethos across the Atlantic. Messums will introduce audiences to three artists whose research-led work evokes memories of place.

The presentation includes New York based artist Linda Sormin whose work in material memory radically develops shape and form out of clay. Linda’s work will be shown alongside that of UK based artists Dr Yan Wang Preston and Eleanor Ekserdjian.

All three use location research as foundational to their practice, sharing a love and a longing that comes from memories of place. These are universal emotions actionable in us all and they speak to truths that help  shape thinking about our place within the world.
