Laurence Edwards ‘Walking Men’

 

Laurence Edwards’s five 8ft Walking Men were installed on South beach, Lowestoft ahead of the First Light Festival and for the duration of summer 2024. The Walking Men sculpture had travelled throughout the UK, including a stay at Messums West and Blenheim Palace and were previously on display in Australia. “I love the idea of these moving people, moving through the landscape to try and work out where their place is.” said Laurence.

One of the few sculptors who casts his own work, Laurence Edwards is fascinated by human anatomy and the metamorphosis of form and matter that governs the lost-wax process.
